CONGRATULATIONS!

  • To Bronte Wright, who attended the National Championships in Toowoomba recently. Bronte came 4th in the 120cm showjumping class and finished up in the Top 10 overall. Well done Bronte!
  • To all who participated in the Brian Brennan games day. Our Senior team being Alister Ling, Brittany Salthouse, Sam Stephens, Jordan Diamond and Molly Henry, came fourth after defeating one of the KG teams in a run off, our fourth for the year.
The Junior team of Chelsea Caelli, Rosie Kerr, Jaz Stephens, Ryan Caccic and Brittany Apted also rode very well to come third in the Junior Division, with the future looking very bright with these young riders coming through.
  • Congratulations to Fiona Caelli, Janina Karolos, Elisa Ling & Dennis Kerr who competed as a team and Caro Salthouse, Jane Apted, Allison Ball and Richelle Simons who were our other team in the unmounted balloon race where they had to hold the balloon between their knees and run to the other end and pass it without using their hands.

Good Luck to Alistair Ling

Alistair will be competing as a member of the Victorian Junior Mounted Games team in Adelaide on the 16th November.

Horse Trials Squad

In preparation for the state / zone team horse trials in 2009 we are looking to develop a Horse Trials squad from within the club.
The squad will generally consist of riders who are graded at levels 1,2,3 and 4 and our intention is to hold training sessions both practical and theory in order to prepare riders to compete at Zone and State level. From this squad the riders and horses will be assessed and the teams selected.

The goal would be to:

  • Bring together riders with a keen interest in competing at Horse Trials
  • Help prepare our riders and their horses for competition
  • Create a squad from which we can select teams for Zone / State competitions
  • Have fun and learn in a squad environment.

The coaching would lead by Sue Leslie although dependent upon numbers we may bring in other specialist coaches. We will be looking for expressions of interest and will at the November rally look to put together a list of members who are keen to participate. Please get your name on the list!

Grading Cards

Please would all riders who compete at other club competitions, ensure that your new 2008 grading cards are up to date. This includes both the rally attendances, and also your current grading on your horse which is at the back of the card. If your card is not up to date, the host club is quite within their rights to refuse to allow you to compete on the day. IT IS THE RIDER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THEIR CARD IS UP TO DATE. I will be talking about grading cards and their importance and function at the next rally.

Those riders who wish to gain an unmounted rally attendance must stay with their group for two sessions and must be in uniform.
